Mace Retail director Matt Turner presented at the Building Supermarkets Conference in London, on 'Supermarket's response to the design and build of energy efficient low waste stores.'
In his presentation Matt covered designing and building energy-efficient, low waste stores, using timber rather than steel to reduce embedded carbon, getting the spacing right for reduced heating and cooling and how to compliment artificial light with natural light to get the most from renewables.
The event, held at London's Grange City Hotel attracted leading supermarkets, construction contractors and the wider supply chain who were there to learn about the opportunities in food retail store design and construction, and wider mixed use development.
