Dean is an experienced business and project director with over 26 years experience delivering a wide range of rail and infrastructure related projects.

Dean recently led the successful deliver of the new train care facility at Ashford in Kent for the new fleet of Hitachi 'bullet trains'. As project director, Dean led a Mace team and supported the funder in the management of this complex £60m project. He is currently fullfilling a similar role for the train care facility at Ramsgate.

He has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and recognised by colleagues and clients alike as an excellent problem solver, providing innovative solutions to technical and commercial challenges.

In 2005 Dean completed an operational flexibility review for London Underground, leading a senior management team, looking into methods of improving operational flexibility. The role required Dean to co-ordinate operators, managers, maintainers and other advisors to provide a range of proposals that meet operational, business case and engineering requirements. The role culminated in a formal business proposal to the Managing Director, Commissioner for London and the Mayor for London. In parallel Dean led a team of infrastructure experts in the development of LU infrastructure renewal strategy. This resulted in the submission of a 15 year programme, technical proposal, resource plan and procurement strategy.

Dean has also managed rail projects for Network Rail and London Underground. These include the upgrade / replacement of bridge structures, construction of depots, stations and traction power facilities. At a strategic level Dean managed the development of railway standards for Network Rail. This role involved co-ordination of industry experts, unions and train operating companies. Major projects included Northern line £0.8bn.

Dean is also experienced in the management of major projects in a range of other sectors; science & pharmaceutical, commercial, heavy civil engineering, and the air sector.
